【What is Amber Glass?】
Amber Glass is used in wide rages of products in our daily life. Some examples are such as turn signal lamps installed in the car and trucks, and bottles for energy drinks sold at the drug stores or convenient stores. 【Characteristics of natural amber glass】
Just like lead-free glass, natural amber glass can be sealed with a lead-in wire (metal wire). It is used not only for cap bulbs but also for wedge bulbs. It has better visibility and is more resistant to deterioration over time than when it is painted on clear glass bulb.
【How to manufacture the natural amber glass bulb】
The production method of amber bulbs are mainly vertical or horizontal.
For example aforementioned G18 and S25 are produced on vertical equipment. The glass tube installed vertically in the equipment is heated by the burner. The melted part is sandwiched between the molds, and air is blown through the glass tube. The glass is molded into the shape. It is similar process with a glass workshop inflating a melted glass wrapped around the tip of a pipe and blown. Glass bulbs of various shapes can be produced according to the diameter and thickness of the glass tube and the shape of the mold.
T10 and T20 are produced on horizontal way.
Glass tube is horizontally installed and rotated with heat from a burner and pulled left and right. The melted portion closes toward the center of the glass tube and sealed flatly. The sealed face is heated again, and air through the glass tube mold it into a hemispherical shape.T13 and T15 are also produced on horizontal equipment, but they use molds. Select the vertical or horizontal type according to the size of the glass tube and glass bulb.
